In the context of repeated attacks on humanitarian aid convoys, blocking roads and seizing humanitarian aid, especially that provided by partners of the humanitarian operation in Sudan, and in continuation of its policy of starving and besieging civilians and displaced persons, especially in Darfur and Kordofan, the rebel Rapid Support Militia on November 11, at the Armal area on the border (between West Kordofan and North Kordofan states), looted and attacked a humanitarian aid convoy of the World Food Program, estimated at about (7) thousand metric tons of various food supplies, which was on its way from the program's warehouses in Port Sudan to North Darfur (Zamzam camp) and headed to the headquarters of the rebel militia in South Darfur State (Nyala). The Humanitarian Aid Commission condemns this behavior that is contrary to the rules and principles of humanitarian work, as these actions are intended to starve and impoverish civilians, leave them vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition diseases, and terrorize the security. The Humanitarian Aid Commission stresses the need to respect and adhere to the rules of international humanitarian law and meet the basic needs of those affected in accordance with the approved international principles and standards represented in neutrality, independence, humanity and respect for the dignity of the Sudanese human being and citizen as a duty dictated by humanity. This rebel militia has continued to persist in its violations and disrespect for all obligations, especially the Jeddah Declaration signed in May 2023. The Humanitarian Aid Commission renews its pledge and compliance with the humanitarian principles that form the basis for all humanitarian work. The Commission also affirms its commitment to facilitating and coordinating all efforts from various humanitarian partners in order to alleviate the harm and suffering of those affected and displaced.
