Professor Salwa Adam Benia, the General Commissioner of the Humanitarian Aid Commission, asserted that Sudan is a sovereign state and operates according to international principles and laws in humanitarian work, adhering to regulations that comply with international agreements for the work of voluntary organizations. This statement was made during her meeting today with the Doctors Without Borders mission at her office, led by Mr. Ariel Zee Alinsky. Professor Salwa listened to the mission members and discussed the current and actual needs of Doctors Without Borders, noting that they are operating in eleven states, particularly in the states of Darfur due to the nature of the high-need areas. She promised to overcome all difficulties and obstacles facing Doctors Without Borders' work in these states. Additionally, she highlighted the actual needs of the organization's work and pointed to the criminal activities of terrorist militias that have destroyed all health facilities, which has affected the health work in most states of Sudan. She urged Doctors Without Borders to focus on the newly liberated areas as well as the states in which they are currently operating.
